New Leader to Carry on Corporate Culture and Tradition While Embracing Change Heading into the Future

Continuing the firm’s planned transition plan, the Board of Directors of Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC) unanimously elected Michael T. Poff, P.E. as CEC’s new President. Poff, who previously served as Vice President of Engineering, will take over the day-to-day responsibilities of running the firm, focusing on coastal restoration and waterfront development project implementation and business development, while providing impeccable customer service. Dr. Michael F. Stephen, cofounder and past President who guided CEC over the past 39 years, will serve as Chief Executive Officer focusing on quality management, geologic technical support, and selective projects.

Poff has over 27 years of experience in coastal and marine engineering. Originally from Pennsylvania, he attended the University of Delaware where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree and a Master of Science in Coastal Engineering degree. Poff joined the firm in 1993 as a Staff Engineer and progressed through the corporate structure from Project Engineer to Senior Engineer, having attained the role of Vice President in 2008. He is married to Danielle, his beautiful wife of 18 years. They have two daughters, Mallory and Victoria, and reside in Naples, Florida.
