Date: 2010 – Ongoing

Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC) has provided professional services to a number of clients for flood zone remapping. CEC was responsible for preparation, submittal, and support of an application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR).  Services included the collection/review of available data, site visits, determination of 100-year storm parameters/calculations, modeling one new transect using FEMA’s C.H.A.M.P. model, drawing proposed flood zones of the project area, performing revisions to model and proposed flood-zone map, providing written description of the proposed LOMR submittal, completion of FEMA Form MT-2 for a request for a LOMR, and LOMR application submittal.

CEC prepared a FEMA Elevation Certificate including additional elevations for each garage floor up to the first habitable floor and located the seaward face of the building and the landward edge of the beach dune. CEC also located nearby street intersections to assist in the overlay of the flood zone map onto the site plan.

Client Testimonial:

“After extensive search for the right consulting engineers, Coastal Engineering Consultants was hired by Ocean Four Condominium Association to review our Flood Insurance zoning. Coastal Engineering was very diligent in their approach, and after some mapping analysis and computer modeling it was determined that Flood Zoning was incorrect. Coastal Engineering was instrumental in assisting our association in processing an application for flood map re-zoning – which was granted to us – and resulted in a very substantial reduction of FEMA Flood Insurance premium. Association is very pleased by the quality of work and by the accomplished results, and would highly recommend Coastal Engineering Consultants”.

Nick Rosenstein, VP of Ocean Four Condo Association, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.
